OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) delivered demolition orders for several Palestinian‑owned buildings and facilities near the separation wall in the town of Kafr Aqab, north of Jerusalem, on Tuesday morning.
According to local sources, Israeli police forces stormed the area adjacent to the separation wall in Kafr Aqab, putting up demolition notices on walls of several facilities.
These Israeli measures fall within a plan aimed at emptying residential areas adjacent to the separation wall and directly restricting Palestinian urban expansion and natural population growth in this vital area north of Jerusalem.
Kafr Aqab faces a complex legal and administrative crisis. Isolated behind the separation wall yet kept within Jerusalem’s municipal boundaries, the area is cut off from basic infrastructure and services. At the same time, residents face strict licensing restrictions, legal prosecution, and heavy fines, part of a strategy to displace them and sever their ties to Jerusalem.
This Israeli escalation in Kafr Aqab coincides with growing violations across Jerusalem governorate.
An official report from the Jerusalem Governorate documented 29 demolitions and bulldozing operations in July, including 13 coerced demolitions where families were compelled to tear down their own homes to avoid heavy fines, 14 demolitions carried out by Israeli machinery and municipal workers, and two bulldozing operations targeting Palestinian-owned swaths of land.
In another incident, Israeli forces demolished today several agricultural structures and sheds in the al-Shakara neighborhood of Duma village, southeast of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
Al-Bidar Human Rights Organization explained that the Israeli demolition of homes and agricultural facilities in the neighborhood after displacing their residents would worsen the losses suffered by Palestinian families.
