WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) escalated their raids across cities, towns, and refugee camps in the West Bank early Friday, carrying out arrest campaigns, opening fire and wounding a Palestinian man, and surrounding a house in Jenin.
A large Israeli military force, backed by reinforcements, stormed the city of Tubas and carried out extensive raids on numerous homes before withdrawing several hours later.
Israeli occupation forces also shot and wounded a Palestinian man and arrested two others during a raid on Qalandiya refugee camp, north of Occupied Jerusalem, while deploying heavily throughout the camp’s neighborhoods.
Meanwhile, an Israeli special forces unit surrounded a house in the Harsh al-Saada neighborhood of Jenin as IOF troops simultaneously raided the Al-Suweitat neighborhood and searched a nearby home. IOF continued to maintain a heavy presence across the city.
IOF also continued their raid on the town of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, where they arrested a former prisoner after storming his home.
In the nearby village of Salem, east of Nablus, Israeli troops raided two homes and arrested a former prisoner just hours before his wedding after storming his family home.
The raids also extended to the city of Salfit, Al-Amari refugee camp in Al-Bireh, the town of Silwad northeast of Ramallah, and the Umm Rokba area of Al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, where Israeli forces searched another home.
The latest raids are part of Israel’s ongoing military escalation across the occupied West Bank, which has included repeated incursions, home raids, arrests, and attacks on Palestinians amid continuing tensions.
Separately, a Palestinian man died on Friday from wounds sustained after Israeli occupation forces shot him at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint, northeast of Occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources said Israeli forces left the man bleeding at the checkpoint after shooting him. He had been shot on Thursday evening at the checkpoint.
Since the beginning of the year, 75 Palestinians, including 18 children, have been killed by Israeli occupation forces and settlers across the West Bank.
