WEST BANK(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) kidnaped at least 70 Palestinian citizens during overnight and dawn raids in different West Bank areas on Monday, amid clashes with local youths and resistance fighters.
According to local sources, the IOF raided homes and kidnaped several citizens during a campaign in Jaba town, south of Jenin. Some of the detainees were detained in order to pressure their relatives to turn themselves in.
The IOF reportedly bulldozed roads in the town and clashed with resistance fighters.
In Nablus, Israeli forces stormed the eastern area of the city, the refugee camps of Balata and Askar, and other neighborhoods, raided homes, and kidnapped a number of citizens.
Local sources said that an IOF bulldozer destroyed the al-Souk road in Balata camp, adding that resistance fighters attacked the Israeli forces and their vehicles with a hail of bullets in Balata and detonated an explosive device at them in Askar camp.
Another citizen identified as Islam Fares, a university student, was kidnapped by the IOF from his home in Taluza town, north of Nablus.
Meanwhile, armed clashes broke out with resistance fighters after Israeli soldiers stormed Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in Jericho and broke into and ransacked homes.
In Ramallah, the IOF stormed Kafr Ni’ma town and kidnaped 25 citizens from their homes.
The IOF also stormed other areas of Ramallah, including al-Jalazon refugee camp and Budrus village, and raided homes, with no reported arrests.
One citizen identified as Mohamed al-Farroukh was kidnaped from his home in Beitunia town, west of Ramallah.
Dozens of citizens were also taken prisoners during IOF raids in different areas of al-Khalil, especially in Bani Na’im town.
