OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) went on the rampage through the town of Anata and the refugee camp of Shuafat in the northeast of Jerusalem, destroying property and kidnaping several Palestinian citizens from homes.
According to local sources, a large number of Israeli troops in military vehicles and bulldozers entered the town and refugee camp, spreading heavily across their neighborhoods and streets and broadcasting a curfew order via loudspeakers.
The IOF closed all entrances of Anata and Shuafat camp, preventing residents from entering or leaving, while simultaneously raiding and searching homes and stores.
Israeli soldiers reportedly forced open the doors of several stores and commercial facilities, damaging their contents during search operations in the town and the refugee camp.
The IOF also kidnaped dozens of citizens, including a woman, from their homes and used a house as an interrogation center during its raids in Anata.
Meanwhile, IOF bulldozers destroyed major water pipelines in Anata, disrupting water supplies to homes.
In a separate incident, a Palestinian car was damaged northwest of Occupied Jerusalem after extremist Jewish settlers pelted it with stones as it drove through the tunnel between the towns of al-Jib and Biddu.
In another context, senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi strongly denounced the killing of 20-year-old Omar Tubasi during an IOF-backed settler attack on the town of Hajja in eastern Qalqilya on Sunday evening.
Mardawi described the killing of Palestinians by settlers and soldiers in the West Bank as “part of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.”
The Hamas official stressed that “Israeli terrorism will not succeed in driving the Palestinians out of their land,” urging the Palestinians from all spectra to join forces to defend themselves and their land.
