IOF raids homes, assaults Palestinians in large-scale Qalandia operation

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large‑scale operation in Qalandia refugee camp in northern Jerusalem early Wednesday, raiding homes and assaulting Palestinian citizens.

The Jerusalem Governorate reported that a large number of Israeli troops and vehicles stormed the camp carrying boxes, equipment, and maps, and spread across several neighborhoods before starting to carry out raids and searches.

According to local sources, Israeli forces stormed the headquarters of the Popular Committee in the camp, forced several residents out of their homes, used a house as a military post, and banned the dawn prayer in the camp’s mosques.

The IOF reportedly detained and interrogated several citizens and severely beat a journalist, amid a heavy presence of military vehicles and bulldozers.

An IOF vehicle also ran over a young man and injured him during the ongoing campaign in the camp.

In separate incidents, the IOF stormed different areas of Tulkarem on Tuesday evening, carrying out raids and destroying memorials.

Israeli forces also stormed the town of Beit Fajjar in southern Bethlehem, spreading through the al‑Muthallath area and clashing with local youths.

Israeli soldiers reportedly stormed a commercial kiosk in Beit Fajjar, wreaking havoc on its contents.
