WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed different areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem last night and on Wednesday morning, raiding homes and kidnaping several Palestinian citizens, including women and an elderly man.
According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped seven citizens, including a 66-year-old woman, in al-Khalil province.
Two of the detainees were kidnaped from their cars at the entrance of Beit Einun village, east of al-Khalil.
Israeli forces also broke into and ransacked several homes in al-Khalil City, including the house of Abdullah al‑Junaidi, where they seized his vehicle and his children’s toys.
Meanwhile, the IOF set up multiple checkpoints at the entrances of al-Khalil, its towns, villages, and refugee camps, and closed several main and side roads with barriers, concrete blocks, and mounds of dirt.
In Nablus, the IOF kidnaped two women following raids on homes in the city and the village of Beit Dajan.
Israeli forces also stormed the town of Kafr Qallil, south of Nablus, raiding and ransacking several homes. They reportedly stole a sum of money from a house.
In Bethlehem, Israeli forces kidnaped an elderly journalist called Hasan al-Fararjah and a young man following raids on homes in al-Deheisha refugee camp. The IOF also closed roads leading to villages in southern Bethlehem.
For its part, the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said that Israeli forces kidnaped at least 20 Palestinians from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
PPS explained that five women were among those detained, identifying them as Jamila Abu Dahhou and Jamila Kanaan from Ramallah, ex-detainee Maisar al‑Faqih and Faten Hanaysha from Nablus, and Itaf Badr from al-Khalil.
In a related context, PPS reported today a sharp rise in detentions across the occupied West Bank, with total arrests since October 2023 now exceeding 24,000.
Among those currently held in Israeli jails are 99 women and 42 journalists, including two media workers subjected to enforced disappearance, PPS said.
