TEHRAN, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The US army said its forces carried out strikes last night on Iran, claiming they were in response to an Iranian drone attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, the US central command announced it launched airstrikes on Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar installations, calling the operation “a powerful response” to the alleged Iranian drone attack on a commercial vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier.
For its part, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed a “swift and decisive” response to the attack, according to Iranian state television, claiming they had repelled a US attack on Sirik Island near the Strait of Hormuz.
Later, IRGC said its forces launched attacks on US military positions in the region in response to the latest US strikes, without specifying which locations had been targeted.
