Israel pushes aggressive Judaization plan in occupied Jerusalem

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli authorities sharply escalated measures in occupied Jerusalem over the past week, implementing a broad package of settlement, security, and administrative actions aimed at reshaping the city’s demographic and geographic character, Palestinian sources said.

Plans include advancing Road 45 to link settlements north of Jerusalem and east of Ramallah to Route 443, a long-standing project designed to fragment Palestinian areas through bypass roads.

In Silwan, Israeli occupation authorities applied a US-Israeli technical agreement inside the City of David settlement enclave, using advanced technology to expand control around the Old City.

Settler attacks also intensified, including arson attacks against Bedouin homes north of Jerusalem under the protection of Israeli forces.

At Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli authorities issued more than 60 exclusion orders ahead of Ramadan targeting freed prisoners, journalists, and Waqf staff, while facilitating settler incursions and restricting Palestinian worshippers.

In Silwan’s al-Bustan neighborhood, land seizures were temporarily suspended without cancellation, as municipal plans moved forward to convert Palestinian land into parks and parking areas. Excavations in Silwan caused dangerous home collapses and new displacement, while residents were barred from repairs.

Israeli occupation police forces also raided the UNRWA compound in Sheikh Jarrah, demolished facilities, raised the Israeli flag, and later announced plans to build 1,400 settlement units on the site, part of wider efforts to dismantle the agency’s presence in Jerusalem.

Taken together, the measures reflect a comprehensive policy to consolidate Israeli control over Jerusalem through settlement expansion, repression, and systematic exclusion of Palestinians.
