RAMALLAH, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation authority has issued a military order seizing over 15 dunums of private Palestinian land in al-Bireh, in the central West Bank, to construct a 3.8-kilometer “security route” encircling the illegal Psagot settlement.
The planned route will cut off another 380 dunums situated between it and Psagot’s existing perimeter, according to field data.
The construction of this route will bar Palestinian owners from accessing their plots of land, placing the terrain under the de facto security control of the Psagot settlement.
According to observers, this step is part of an escalating settlement policy pursued by Israeli occupation regime since October 7, 2023, under which 46 military orders have been issued to impose buffer zones around West Bank settlements.
Established in 1981 on private Palestinian land in the Jabel al-Tawil area of al-Bireh, the hilltop settlement of Psagot has effectively blocked Palestinian urban expansion along the city’s eastern area.
