Israeli Airstrike Hits Gaza, Destroys Building, Ignites Refugee Tents

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), An Israeli airstrike struck a residential building in the western area of Gaza City on Wednesday evening, causing extensive destruction and igniting fires in nearby tents sheltering displaced families.

Medical and local sources reported that Israeli warplanes directly targeted the building, resulting in significant damage to the structure and surrounding homes and property.

The strike also caused fires to break out in several displacement tents located near the targeted site, triggering panic and fear among families living in the area, particularly as many women and children were present.

Residents, along with civil defense crews, rushed to try to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby tents, despite limited resources and a shortage of firefighting equipment due to the severe conditions in the Gaza Strip.

According to the same sources, no injuries had been reported at the time, while Israeli warplanes continued flying over the area, raising concerns about possible additional strikes.

The attack is part of a series of ongoing Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip that have caused widespread destruction to homes and infrastructure, worsening the humanitarian crisis as the ceasefire violations and blockade continue.
