Israeli army bombs resistance sites in Gaza following rocket fire

GAZA, (The Palestine Information Centre) Israeli warplanes bombed at dawn Wednesday two Palestinian resistance sites in the Gaza Strip after five rockets were allegedly intercepted over the illegal settlement of Sderot.

According to local sources, Israeli airstrikes targeted two resistance sites in Beit Lahia and Gaza City.

Smoke and flames were seen rising above the bombed sites following the aerial attacks, which also caused damage to several nearby homes.

The air raids came as the Israeli occupation forces started withdrawing from the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. Hundreds of Israeli troops stormed the camp on Monday and Tuesday in the biggest raid in the territory since the second intifada (uprising) ended in 2005.

The Israeli military aggression in Jenin— which killed 12 Palestinians, injured more than 140, and forced about 500 families to flee — was part of a large-scale operation targeting Palestinian resistance fighters in the West Bank

One Israeli soldier was also killed in the fighting, the Israeli army claimed on Tuesday.
