Israeli army demolishes three Palestinian homes in Bethlehem

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation army demolished three Palestinian homes in Bethlehem on Wednesday morning, claiming they were built without permits.

According to local sources, Israeli forces with bulldozers stormed the Qarnat al‑Da‘mas area of Nahalin town, southwest of Bethlehem, and started to demolish two homes.

A week earlier, the Israeli army forced the families living in these two houses to evacuate. The demolished homes belonged to Ahmed Najajira and Mohamed Awad.

The Israeli army had already carried out demolitions in the area as part of a campaign targeting 14 homes and structures in different areas of Nahalin.

Israeli bulldozers escorted by Israeli soldiers also knocked down another Palestinian house in the village of al-Maniya, south of Bethlehem.

In a similar incident, Israeli bulldozers razed a Palestinian home after displacing its residents in the Arab town of al‑Bi’ina in 1948 occupied Palestine. The house belonged to the family of Munir Bakri.

Clashes erupted in the town as residents tried to prevent the demolition. Israeli forces reportedly assaulted and arrested several citizens during the events.
