Israeli army seizes large swaths of land and a house in West Bank

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation army appropriated, on Monday, swaths of Palestinian lands in Qalqilya and Salfit in the West Bank and converted a house in Tulkarem into a military barracks.

According to local sources, the Israeli army issued a military order to seize 0.407 dunums (407 square meters) of land in the village of Jinsafut, east of Qalqilya, under the pretext of using them for military purposes.

The sources said that the order claimed the seized land would be used to establish a military communications tower and secure an access route leading to it.

In Salfit, the Israeli army decided to seize 2.224 dunums of land in the village of Marda, citing “military purposes.” This land is located in a strategic location adjacent to Road 505 and north of the illegal settlement of Ariel.

In northern Tulkarem, Israeli forces stormed the village of al-Jarushiya and turned a house into a military barracks after forcing its residents to evacuate at gunpoint.

In a separate incident, settlers set fire to swaths of agricultural land in the village of Jiljilyya, north of Ramallah and al‑Bireh. The farmland belongs to Palestinians from the village and the nearby towns of Sinjil and al-Mazra’a ash-Sharqiya.
