OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli authorities on Sunday issued an order barring Jerusalemite journalist Ahmad Al-Safadi, a member of the National Action Committee in Occupied Jerusalem, from entering the Aqsa Mosque after arresting him from his home in Occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources said Israeli occupation forces raided Al-Safadi’s home before arresting him and taking him to the Al-Qishla police station in Jerusalem’s Old City, where he was served with the exclusion order.
In a report, the Jerusalem Governorate said Israeli occupation authorities continue to issue exclusion orders banning worshipers, activists, and prominent Jerusalemite figures from Aqsa Mosque as part of measures aimed at reducing the Palestinian presence in and around the holy site.
The governorate said the policy forms part of Israel’s ongoing campaign of issuing exclusion orders targeting activists, worshipers, and Jerusalem figures, alongside tighter restrictions on Palestinian worshipers entering the Mosque and an escalation in Israeli settler incursions into the compound under the protection of Israeli forces.
It added that these measures are part of broader Israeli efforts to impose a new de facto situation at the Aqsa Mosque compound.
