OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) , Israeli occupation authorities on Tuesday issued expulsion orders barring two Jerusalem residents from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, while Israeli occupation forces carried out raids and search operations in the Silwan neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem Governorate said that Israeli authorities imposed a one-week ban, renewable at any time, on Qaqaa’ Bikayrat and former prisoner Mohammed Abu al-Hamam, both from the town of Silwan, preventing them from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The governorate said the decision is part of an ongoing Israeli policy targeting Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem and restricting their right to worship and access the holy site.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli forces raided the town of Silwan, located south of Al-Aqsa Mosque. According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, large numbers of Israeli forces stormed the area and were deployed across several neighborhoods.
The center said Israeli troops took over rooftops of residential buildings in the Bir Ayyub neighborhood, raided construction supply stores, and carried out identity checks on workers.
In a related development, Israeli forces set up traffic checkpoints in Bir Ayyub and another checkpoint on Ain Street in Silwan, issuing fines to vehicles passing through the area.
