OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) extended their military operation into a second consecutive day in the Qalandia refugee camp and the neighboring town of Kafr Aqab, north of Jerusalem.
More IOF reinforcements were deployed throughout both areas as troops conducted widespread raids on homes and facilities on Thursday.
Last night, Israeli forces kidnaped Mohamed Ammar and blew up parts of his home during its ongoing raid in Qalandia camp. They also blocked ambulances from evacuating patients to hospitals.
Since early Wednesday, the IOF has detained and assaulted several young men during its operation in the camp.
Israeli forces also assaulted a young woman at the entrance of Qalandia camp as she attempted to reach her home.
Meanwhile, the IOF imposed restrictions on Qalandia residents’ movement, raided many homes and facilities, stormed the Popular Committee headquarters, distributed threat leaflets to citizens, and detained and interrogated others.
This morning, Israeli bulldozers started demolishing several commercial stores around the Qalandia military checkpoint, amid a heavy military presence.
Red Crescent paramedics have so far provided first aid for 10 wounded people in Qalandia following assaults by Israeli soldiers in Qalandia.
The Red Crescent explained that during the night its crews were prevented from entering Qalandia camp, as the army ordered them to leave despite the presence of several patients who need medical assistance.
Local sources, for their part, reported that Israeli forces have continued to use several homes in Qalandia as military posts after forcing families to evacuate.
The IOF reportedly detained and interrogated over 60 citizens, including children and women, during its campaign in Qalandia camp, which started yesterday, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
PPS reported grave violations during the ongoing IOF raid in Qalandia camp, including torture, intimidation, forced evictions, and property destruction.
