JENIN, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli occupation forces (IOF), accompanied by Jewish settlers, forced four Palestinian families out of their homes in Khirbet Asaid, part of the town of Ya’bad in the Jenin Governorate, on Wednesday after raiding the area and assaulting residents.
Resident Suheila Obeid said settlers stormed homes in the hamlet and attacked the families before Israeli forces stormed the houses and ordered all four families to leave.
She added that the IOF informed the residents that they would not be allowed to return to their homes, leaving the families homeless and without any shelter.
Obeid appealed to international and official institutions to intervene urgently to ensure the families are allowed to return to their homes and to provide them with emergency shelter, noting that several children among the displaced suffer from medical conditions.
Khirbet Asaid lies near the Dotan settlement, which was built on land belonging to the town of Ya’bad. The four families have lived in the hamlet for more than 70 years and have faced repeated harassment and attacks by Israeli forces and settlers in recent years in efforts to intimidate them and force them off their land and out of their homes.
