Israeli forces shell area near Abdin town in Syria’s Daraa countryside

DAMASCUS, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Israeli occupation forces fired five artillery shells on Wednesday at the outskirts of the town of Abdin in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa Governorate in southern Syria.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the shelling targeted areas surrounding Abdin. No casualties or property damage were immediately reported.

The attack followed an Israeli military incursion on Tuesday into the outskirts of the al-Raqad Valley in western Daraa, launched from the Tel Abu al-Ghithar area. Israeli forces also opened fire during the operation, though no injuries or material damage were reported.

Israeli occupation forces have continued to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions into southern Syria, raids on civilian homes, arrests of residents, land bulldozing, and artillery shelling.

Syria has called for the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from its territory, maintaining that all Israeli measures are null and void and carry no legal effect under international law. Damascus has also urged the international community to uphold its responsibilities and compel Israel to fully withdraw from southern Syria.
