Israeli forces target Palestinian farmland and vital water lines in Tubas

TUBAS, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) uprooted hundreds of trees, including in olive groves, on Thursday in the village of Atuf and al-Baqi’ah plain, east of the Tubas governorate.

These bulldozing operations in the area are aimed at building a military road and a separation wall, according to local sources.

Local official Moataz Bisharat reported that the Israeli army started in the early morning hours to bulldoze hundreds of trees and main water supply pipelines in the east of Atuf village and al-Baqi’ah plain.

Bisharat explained that the bulldozing operations resulted in the uprooting of more than 300 olive trees and grapevines, in addition to destroying water pipelines that irrigate approximately 45,000 dunums of land.

Since the beginning of this year, the IOF has been carrying out bulldozing operations on vast tracts of land in Atuf and al-Baqi’ah plain. These activities are part of a project that aims to build a military road and a separation wall across privately owned Palestinian lands in the Tubas governorate and the northern Jordan Valley.
