Israeli Gunfire Kills Palestinian Youth as West Bank Attacks Intensify

HEBRON (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian youth who was wounded by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire north of Hebron has succumbed to his injuries, while Israeli forces carried out widespread raids across the occupied West Bank and occupied Jerusalem on Saturday, searching homes, firing live ammunition and using stun grenades and tear gas. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers also attacked Palestinian residents and their property.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that it had been informed by the General Authority of Civil Affairs that 32-year-old Shadi Ahmed Ibrahim Ajarmeh, a resident of Beit Ula, had died from severe gunshot wounds sustained on Friday near Nabi Yunis Square, north of Hebron. The ministry added that Israeli forces were still withholding his body.

Amid continued tensions on the ground, Israeli occupation forces raided several towns, cities and refugee camps across the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem early Saturday. They searched Palestinian homes and used indiscriminate live fire, stun grenades and tear gas in various areas.

Raids and Searches Across Multiple Governorates

In Qalqilya Governorate, Israeli forces raided the towns of Azzun and Kafr Qaddum, east of the city, and entered Qalqilya through its northern entrance. During the raid on Kafr Qaddum, several homes were searched.

Israeli forces also raided the town of Awarta, south of Nablus, as well as the Askar al-Jadid refugee camp east of the city and the al-Ain refugee camp to its west. These operations formed part of a broader military campaign affecting several areas across the governorate.

In Tulkarem Governorate, Israeli forces raided the town of Allar in the north and searched several homes belonging to former prisoners. The raids also extended to the town of Tammun, south of Tubas, where troops surrounded a house. Additional operations were reported in Jericho and in the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah.

Grenades and Settler Attacks in Hebron

In Hebron Governorate, Israeli forces fired tear gas and stun grenades around a wedding hall in the Wadi al-Simiya area of Beit Awwa, southwest of the governorate. They also raided Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, and the city of Dura to the south.

Local sources reported that following the raid on Dura, Israeli forces searched a house in the Khirbet Muslim area. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers carried out further attacks on Palestinian residents in other parts of the governorate.

Settlers attacked the Wadi al-Sheikh area of Beit Ummar. In a separate incident, settlers assaulted a Palestinian youth in Wadi Khassis, in the town of Sa’ir, and smashed the windows of his vehicle northeast of Hebron.

In Bethlehem Governorate, Israeli forces raided the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, and continued their military movements inside the town.

Military Alert and Raid on Qalandiya Refugee Camp

In other developments, flares continued to be fired over the al-Marj area of Qalqilya. The activity coincided with Israeli military movements near the separation wall, aerial surveillance operations involving a helicopter and the presence of an ambulance in the area.

North of occupied Jerusalem, a large Israeli military force raided Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab. During the incursion into the camp, troops fired live ammunition indiscriminately and used stun grenades. They also closed the main road in front of Qalandiya Junction.

These developments come amid continued Israeli military raids and attacks across towns and communities in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. The operations have included home searches and attacks on Palestinian civilians and their property, alongside an increase in attacks by Israeli settlers in several areas.
