OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Aqsa Mosque was empty of Muslim worshipers after the Israeli occupation police closed its gates and imposed strict security measures in Jerusalem on Saturday, the 11th day of Ramadan, amid the Zio-American aggression against Iran.
Local sources reported that Israeli police forces forced Muslim worshipers to evacuate the Mosque’s courtyards in the morning hours, closed its gates, and then set up checkpoints around the Old City and at its entrances, preventing citizens from reaching the holy site.
Jerusalem neighborhoods saw a heavy police deployment, with forces ramping up ID checks on citizens, while thousands of West Bank Palestinians were barred from entering the city amid months-long restrictions.
The closure of the Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan when tens of thousands of worshipers gather for prayers, especially in the early days of the holy month, represents an unprecedented escalation, infringing on Muslims’ right to worship.
