GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Freed Palestinian prisoner Majdi al-Ayoubi was killed on Thursday evening in an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle near the Jordanian field hospital on al-Sinaa Street in southern Gaza City after surviving a harrowing period of Israeli detention, torture, and the loss of his pregnant wife and mother during the war.
His killing came amid continued Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, where three other Palestinians, including a child, were killed in separate attacks as Israeli forces continued to violate the ceasefire agreement.
According to the Asra Media Office, al-Ayoubi was arrested during an Israeli military incursion into the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City while accompanying his mother and his wife, who was in her final month of pregnancy.
A former fellow detainee said al-Ayoubi was subjected to torture during what Israeli forces described as a “field interrogation.”
Following his arrest, his mother and pregnant wife were forced to head north, where they were subsequently killed in an Israeli attack. His unborn child also died in the strike.
The fellow prisoner recounted that al-Ayoubi was later transferred to the Sde Teiman detention facility, where the two were held together and endured severe conditions, including torture and mistreatment.
“I shared chapters of suffering with Majdi at Sde Teiman. We were together in the section they called ‘hell,’ where he carried the pain of his wounded body and the loss of his family,” the former detainee said.
He added that an officer from Israel’s Shin Bet internal security agency informed al-Ayoubi during interrogation that his mother and wife had been killed, speaking about their killing in front of him and deepening his psychological suffering.
After his release, al-Ayoubi returned to Gaza bearing the physical and psychological consequences of detention and torture, as well as the devastating loss of his family.
His life ended on Thursday evening when an Israeli strike hit a vehicle near the Jordanian field hospital.
Three Palestinians killed in separate Israeli attacks, including child
In separate attacks, three Palestinians were killed, including a child, and several others were injured in Israeli shelling and gunfire in Gaza City and Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
The attacks occurred as Israeli forces continued operations across the territory on Friday, marking the 365th consecutive day of ceasefire violations since the agreement was reached in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, under Arab and American mediation in October 2025.
Israeli airstrikes, artillery shelling, gunfire, and demolition operations were reported across several areas of the Gaza Strip from early Friday morning.
An Israeli strike targeting a house in the Sabra neighborhood of southern Gaza City killed child Hussam Housou and Palestinian woman Intisar Abu Asr.
In a separate attack, Musbah Dalloul was shot and killed by Israeli forces southeast of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Israeli warplanes also launched airstrikes on eastern Gaza City, with one strike destroying a residential building and another targeting a home in the Sabra neighborhood.
The attacks coincided with artillery shelling of the city’s eastern areas.
Israeli shelling and gunfire threaten displaced families
Continued Israeli artillery fire east of Gaza City injured a Palestinian who was subsequently transported to Al-Ahli Arab Hospital for medical treatment.
Israeli shelling also extended to areas northeast of the Bureij refugee camp and east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
In southern Gaza, Israeli forces opened heavy fire toward tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the al-Mawasi areas of Khan Yunis and Rafah.
Israeli forces also fired illumination flares south of Khan Yunis as military operations continued to threaten civilians and displaced families living in temporary shelters.
The attacks came amid reports of additional Israeli demolition operations targeting Palestinian homes across the Gaza Strip.
According to the source, Israeli forces carried out 21 ceasefire violations from early Thursday, leaving six Palestinians killed and several others injured.
The attacks included artillery shelling, gunfire, and the demolition of residential buildings.
Gaza death toll reaches 74,254
According to the daily statistical report issued on Thursday by Gaza’s Ministry of Health, hospitals received the bodies of four Palestinians killed and treated 28 injured people during the preceding 24 hours.
The ministry reported that the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks since the October 2025 ceasefire had reached 1,471, with another 5,189 injured.
An additional 836 bodies had been recovered during the same period.
The ministry said the overall Palestinian death toll since the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on October 7, 2023, had risen to 74,254, while the number of injured had reached 175,306.
The figures reflect the devastating human toll of Israel’s bloody war on Gaza, where Palestinians continue to face deadly attacks, widespread destruction, and deteriorating humanitarian conditions despite the ceasefire agreement.
