Jerusalem Governorate warns of escalating Israeli demolition campaign in Qalandia

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Jerusalem Governorate has warned of an escalating Israeli demolition campaign targeting the Palestinian presence in the Qalandia area, north of Occupied Jerusalem.

The Governorate called the demolition orders “part of a broader Israeli plan to advance settlement projects, seize land, and enforce a new fait accompli in Jerusalem at the expense of the Palestinian presence.’

On August 12, the Israeli municipality delivered demolition and stop‑construction notices targeting several homes and agricultural facilities near al-Shuhada Cemetery in Qalandia camp.

Israeli forces launched, on August 5, a two-day military operation in Qalandia camp and Kafr Aqab town, north of Jerusalem. The operation involved demolitions and explosions targeting Palestinian homes and facilities, along with demolition notices served to other residents.
