OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) displaced Jerusalemite citizens after forcing them to demolish their own homes in the village of Qalandia, north of occupied Jerusalem.
Local sources said the Awadallah family was compelled to demolish seven inhabited houses in the eastern part of Qalandia village, under the pretext of building without permits.
Members of the family demolished six homes on Saturday and another one the day before to avoid the heavy costs and fines that would have been imposed if an Israeli municipal crew had carried out the demolitions.
In a separate incident, the Israeli occupation army demolished an agricultural structure belonging to a Palestinian farmer on the outskirts of Kafr ad-Dik, west of Salfit.
Since the genocidal war on Gaza started in October 2023, Israeli demolition operations have escalated significantly in various parts of the West Bank and Jerusalem with the aim of displacing and expelling Palestinians from their areas.
