WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has revealed a sharp increase in Jewish settler attacks across the occupied West Bank during the first seven months of 2026, with attacks rising by 63 percent compared with the same period last year.
In a statement, the commission said 4,113 attacks were recorded from the beginning of the year through the end of July, compared with 2,524 attacks during the same period in 2025, representing an increase of around 1,500 attacks.
According to the commission, settler attacks this year exceeded the levels recorded in 2025 during every month without exception, indicating a clear expansion in both the scale and intensity of the attacks.
The attacks reached their highest levels in June and July, with 748 and 798 attacks, respectively, compared with 442 and 466 during the corresponding months last year.
Although the monthly pattern did not show a steady increase, the attacks remained at consistently high levels before intensifying significantly around the middle of the year, reflecting the growing frequency and geographical spread of settler violence.
The commission stressed that these attacks cannot be viewed as isolated incidents, but rather as part of what it described as an “environment of political, security and legal support” that has become increasingly entrenched since the formation of the far-right Israeli government in late 2022.
The surge in attacks has coincided with the expansion of settlements, particularly herding outposts, the arming of settlers and the incorporation of some of them into security units, as well as military protection for settlers and a decline in accountability for crimes committed against Palestinians.
The commission pointed to growing coordination between Israeli occupation forces and settlers on the ground to impose control over land and restrict Palestinians’ access to their land and sources of livelihood.
It warned that international hesitation and weak mechanisms for deterrence and accountability have transformed settler attacks from scattered incidents into a systematic tool for imposing new geographical realities, shrinking Palestinian communities, and pushing Palestinians toward forced displacement.
