Jordan airdrops medical aid to its field hospital in Gaza

AMMAN,(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan announced that its military aircraft dropped urgent medical aid to the Jordanian field hospital in the Gaza Strip before dawn Monday.

King Abdullah II of Jordan said that the Jordanian Air Force succeeded in airdropping urgent medical aid to the Jordanian field hospital in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on his “X” platform account, he added that this step reflects his country’s duty towards the wounded and injured who are suffering from the war on Gaza, and that Jordan will remain the closest support and advocate for its Palestinian brothers.

The official Jordanian news agency quoted a military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces as saying: “A Royal Air Force aircraft dropped urgent medical aid by parachutes to the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza after its supplies were about to run out due to the delay in the arrival of aid through the Rafah crossing.”

The source explained that the Jordanian field hospital will continue to operate to alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza Strip despite the severe shortage of supplies.

The Jordanian field hospital in Gaza, which was established in 2009 and is affiliated with the Jordanian Army, receives between 1,000 and 1,200 patients daily.

Jordan’s announcement comes at a time when the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced the closure of 16 hospitals out of a total of 35 due to being targeted in the ongoing Israeli aggression or due to the lack fuel to operate their generators.

The hospitals that are still operating are facing difficult conditions due to continuous shelling and bombing, fuel depletion, and the exhaustion of medical staff due to intensive work with over 36,000 cases, including martyrs and injured, as well as tens of thousands of patients in the past month.

Furthermore, the Israeli occupation forces separated southern and northern Gaza, hindering the flow of limited aid that has reached the Strip through the Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt, to Gaza City and northern areas.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the past month has resulted in the martyrdom of 9,770 Palestinians, according to the Ministry of Health, which confirmed that 70% of the victims of the aggression are women and children, and the number of injured has exceeded 25,000.
