Doha (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Khalil al-Hayya, head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, held talks with a delegation from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), headed by the Front’s Deputy Secretary-General Jamil Mazhar, on a number of important political, national, and field-related issues.
The two leaders expressed deep concern over the patience and steadfastness of the Palestinian people, particularly their families in the Gaza Strip, and the challenges facing civilians, especially the continued Israeli aggression, repeated violations, blockade, and the difficult humanitarian conditions resulting from the occupation’s crimes and its refusal to honor ceasefire understandings and agreements.
They stressed that the mediators and guarantors must exert every possible effort and apply the necessary pressure to halt these violations and crimes, compel the occupation to end all forms of aggression, and fully implement its commitments.
The meeting also addressed the dangerous situation in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem amid escalating Israeli crimes, land confiscation, settlement expansion, demolitions, displacement, and the seizure of homes, as well as efforts to isolate Palestinian cities and communities and impose a gradual annexation of large parts of the West Bank.
Both sides emphasized the grave nature of the abuses committed against Palestinian prisoners and female detainees in Israeli prisons and stressed the need for the international community to take decisive action to stop these crimes and violations.
The participants warned against allowing the Palestinian people to become a party to the state of electoral competition within Israel, stressing that Palestinians must not be made to pay with their blood, rights, and land because of Israeli elections, particularly amid growing extremism and the dominance of the far right.
The meeting also discussed developments in the Palestinian internal situation, particularly calls for holding Palestinian elections and ways to create the necessary conditions to fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
Within this framework, Hamas welcomed the vision presented by the Popular Front. Both sides agreed to continue consultations with various Palestinian factions and components and to promote joint action.
