NEW YORK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said on Friday “Israel’s banning the relief agency’s operations in Gaza is aimed at stripping Palestinian refugees of their right of return.”
In a press interview with CNN, Lazzarini emphasized that the true reason behind Israel’s campaign against UNRWA was not the Israeli claims that several members of the agency’s staff contributed to the October 7 attack, but rather stripping Palestinian refugees of their right of return.
On another note, he reported stories of “UNRWA staff in Gaza having to eat animal fodder to survive. Their stories are harrowing. Hunger is rampant.”
