Masafer Yatta sees renewed settler violence targeting residents and homes

AL-KHALIL, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Extremist settler groups launched attacks on Palestinian citizens and property in Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil, on Sunday and today, Monday morning.

According to sources, settlers dressed in military uniforms stormed the house of Hisham as‑Saree in the Huwara area of Masafer Yatta, searched it, and threatened his family.

At dawn, another group of settlers raided the village of al‑Tuwani in Masafer Yatta, punctured the tires of a local resident, and attacked a car belonging to foreign activists.

Yesterday, settlers uprooted and destroyed more than 20 olive saplings belonging to farmer Ismail al‑Adra in the Rajoum I’li area of Masafer Yatta, in addition to damaging many others by releasing livestock into the grove.

Settlers also attempted to expel Palestinian shepherds from a grazing area in the Wadi Abu Shaban area of Masafer Yatta.

Settlers in military attire also detained a young man on the Ma’in–Khalidiya road east of Yatta, abused him, forced him to put soil into his car’s fuel tank, and threatened to kill him.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces demolished sheds and parts of a cave, as well as a home, a sheep pen, and confiscated a tent belonging to Khaled al‑Badour in the Wadi al‑Qurashiya area near Khirbet al‑Daraj in Masafer Yatta.
