Multi-Front Conflict Intensifies as Israel, Iran, and Hezbollah Clash

BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), An Israeli soldier was killed and four others were injured after a Merkava tank was struck by a guided missile in southern Lebanon, as fighting intensifies alongside a widening regional war involving Iran.

The Israeli military said the attack occurred during ground operations in southern Lebanon, marking the second soldier killed within hours amid ongoing clashes with Hezbollah, which has stepped up attacks using guided missiles and explosive drones targeting Israeli armor and troop positions.

The incident comes as the US-Israeli war on Iran entered its 28th day, with escalating exchanges across multiple fronts and growing fears of a broader regional confrontation.

In Iran, explosions were reported in Tehran, Tabriz, Urmia, and Kashan, with airstrikes hitting residential areas.

Iranian authorities reported casualties, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced a new wave of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli military sites, US bases, and energy facilities.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and other areas following Iranian missile launches, while the Israeli military said it carried out extensive strikes on infrastructure in Tehran.

The United States is weighing further escalation, including the possible deployment of up to 10,000 additional troops to the region, according to US media reports.

President Donald Trump said a planned strike on Iranian energy facilities had been delayed for ten days, citing a request from Tehran, while warning that broader military options remain under consideration.

In Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes targeted Beirut’s southern suburbs and multiple towns, causing casualties, as evacuation warnings were issued across the south.

Hezbollah, for its part, claimed dozens of attacks on Israeli military positions, reporting direct hits on forces and equipment.

The conflict has also spilled into the Gulf, where missile debris caused casualties in the United Arab Emirates, while Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait reported intercepting missiles and drones.

In Iraq, an airstrike on a paramilitary site injured three people, highlighting the expanding scope of the conflict.

Diplomatic efforts are ongoing to contain the escalation, with Egypt coordinating with regional partners, while Spain rejected a US request to use its air bases, warning of serious economic consequences from the war.
