OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A Palestinian citizen was martyred at dawn Thursday after Israeli police officers opened fire at him near the Bab as-Silsla area in the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem.
The Israeli occupation police claimed at first that the Palestinian rushed towards the officers with a knife in his hand, but later said he was stopped and asked for identification before being shot dead for acting suspiciously.
The incident occurred around 03:00 a.m. on Thursday. The martyr’s identity is still unknown.
Later, the police announced that a large number of its forces raided the alleged stabber’s house and started interrogating members of his family.
The police also said they would map the house as a prelude to obtaining a demolition order as a punitive measure against the family over their relative’s intent to stab Israelis.
