WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian man was wounded on Sunday evening by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) near the Jabara checkpoint in Tulkarem, in the northern West Bank.
According to the Palestine Red Crescent Society, its crews received the young man from IOF troops at the checkpoint after he was shot in the foot with live ammunition. He was transferred to a hospital for treatment.
In a separate incident on Sunday, two Palestinians were injured after Israeli settlers attacked them in the Wadi al-Shaer area, east of Salfit.
Local sources said Mohammed Darwish and Nashat Ishtayeh, both from Salfit, were severely beaten by settlers while they were on their agricultural land, leaving them with injuries and bruises.
The Wadi al-Shaer area has witnessed repeated settler attacks and harassment targeting Palestinians and their farmland amid an escalation in settler attacks across the governorate.
The area lies along a main road connecting Salfit with Al-Zaytoonah University and is used daily by residents, students and vehicles.
Last June, 14 UN experts warned that the sharp escalation in settler violence, which they said was occurring with the support and complicity of the Israeli government, posed an existential threat to Palestinian communities.
An estimated 750,000 Israeli settlers live across the West Bank, including Occupied Jerusalem, in 194 settlements and around 400 settlement outposts, amid near-daily attacks that Palestinians say are aimed at forcibly displacing them from their land.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, IOF and settlers carried out 2,030 attacks in August, including 1,402 by Israeli forces and 628 by settlers.
