Palestinians mark 75th anniversary of Deir Yassin massacre

The Palestinian people mark on Sunday the 75th anniversary of Deir Yassin massacre.

On Friday, 9 April 1948, Zionist militias wiped out the people of the Deir Yassin village.

They ethnically cleansed historic Palestine to establish a Jewish homeland on stolen Palestinian soil.

Located just outside of Jerusalem, the village was once home to 750 Palestinians.

The Zionist terrorist groups Irgun and Stern Gang, who killed more than 250 defenceless Palestinian civilians on sight, including women and children, raided the village.

The 120 odd militants sprayed homes with bullets and even used hand grenades that they threw through people’s windows and doors.

They burned the bodies and threw them in a pit.

Following the massacre, they took many survivors prisoner and paraded them through the streets of Jerusalem before killing them later on.

Deir Yassin has long been a symbol of Israeli violence for Palestinians.

This is because of the particularly gruesome nature of the slaughter, which targeted men, women, children, and the elderly.

The scenes made native Palestinians so fearful for their lives that as many as 750,000 fled their homes immediately.

This of course was not the end of it.

Palestinians have had to bear many state-sponsored massacres since at the hands of the Israelis.

It is now estimated that up to 5.3 million Palestinians are living as refugees.
