GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, has said 12 Israeli soldiers had been killed in a complex operation in Jabalia refugee camp, north of the Gaza Strip.
According to a communiqué released by al-Qassam Brigades on Wednesday, the operation happened in the Block 4 area of Jabalia camp, where its fighters targeted an armored bulldozer with one Yassin 105 projectile and a group of soldiers holed up inside a house with anti-personnel missiles before clashing with them.
“As soon as a rescue force advanced to the place, a Shuwad explosive device was detonated at a Merkava tank, and while there was an attempt [by Israeli soldiers] to take the equipment lying on the ground after their comrades were targeted, Zionist warplanes bombed the area barbarically,” the Brigades elaborated.
At least 12 Israeli soldiers were killed in the operation, the Brigades affirmed, adding that the Israeli army embarked on towing its destroyed vehicles under aerial bombardment.
Al-Qassam fighters also seized an Israeli military drone in the west of Jabalia camp.
Yesterday, al-Qassam Brigades said its fighters killed eight soldiers and destroyed some tanks and armored vehicles in Jabalia.
The Israeli occupation army, for its part, admitted yesterday that 28 soldiers were injured, some seriously, in skirmishes with Hamas fighters in the Gaza Strip.
A total of 95 soldiers have been wounded in Gaza since the end of last week, the Israeli army claimed.
