WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission said it has documented the killing of 20 Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli settlers since the beginning of 2026, warning that the pace of such attacks has sharply increased compared with previous years.
In a press statement on Friday, the Commission said data showed that settlers killed 11 Palestinians in 2024 and 14 in 2025, while the toll has risen to 20 since the start of 2026, the highest recorded figure for this period in previous years.
Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate recorded the largest number of victims, with 12 Palestinians killed, accounting for 56% of the total so far this year. It was followed by Nablus with three, Al-Khalil with two, Jerusalem with two and Salfit with one.
The Commission said the concentration of killings in these areas reflects an escalation of attacks near pastoral settlement outposts and settler roads, as part of efforts to impose new realities through force and violence.
It explained that gunfire was the main method used in the killings, with 16 Palestinians shot dead by Israeli settlers. Two others were killed as a result of assault and pursuit, one died from gas inhalation and another suffered a fatal heart attack during a settler attack, reflecting the variety and widening scope of the assaults.
The Palestine Information Center “Muata” documented 42 Israeli demolitions of Palestinian homes in June, along with 303 incidents involving the destruction or targeting of Palestinian property in the West Bank.
The Commission warned of an increase in demolitions of Palestinian structures and restrictions on construction. It said Israeli occupation forces have carried out around 341 demolitions since the beginning of 2026, destroying 740 structures and displacing 923 Palestinians, including 546 children.
The Commission added that Israeli forces and settlers carried out 11,074 attacks in the West Bank during the first half of 2026, underscoring the continued escalation of assaults against Palestinians and their property.
