Residents of Masafer Yatta face intimidation and physical assaults

AL-KHALIL, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A horde of extremist Jewish settlers set fire to Palestinian homes northeast of Occupied Jerusalem late Wednesday night, while Israeli forces raided homes, kidnaped a number of Palestinians, and razed a factory in different West Bank areas last night and today.

According to media sources, a group of settlers infiltrated into the “Khilat as-Sidra” Bedouin community near the town of Mikhmas, northeast of Jerusalem, and torched some homes.

Another settler group stormed the Khirbet Fakhit Bedouin community in Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil, last night and savagely assaulted some citizens, who sustained injuries and bruises.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces carried out overnight and dawn raids in the village of Dar Salah east of Bethlehem, the town of Beit Sahour, as well as in the cities of Nablus and Tubas and the towns of Ras Karkar, Azzun, Kafr Thulth, Attil, Qabatiya, and Beita, in addition to the Balata and al-Jalazon refugee camps.

During the raids, Israeli forces fired stun grenades and flares, broke into dozens of homes, and detained several young men in different areas, particularly in Qizoun neighborhood near al-Khalil City, and the town of Attil, north of Tulkarem, where a young man, Yusuf al-Shalabi, was kidnaped.

Local sources reported that a young man was injured after being run over by an Israeli military vehicle while it was passing through Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus.

In Jenin, Israeli forces kidnaped two young men during a raid in the town of Qabatiya.

In Tubas, Israeli bulldozers started demolishing a factory in the town of Sebastia on Thursday morning.

Sebastia mayor Mohamed Azem reported that bulldozers escorted by Israeli soldiers stormed the town early in the day and started knocking down a factory located at the western entrance, owned by a local resident.
