WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a wide-ranging campaign of arrests across several cities, towns, and refugee camps in the West Bank in the early hours of Monday. Dozens of Palestinians were detained during the raids, including a journalist and a teen.
The PIC correspondent reported that Israeli forces arrested journalist Inas Ikhlawi after raiding her home in the town of Idhna, west of al-Khalil in the southern West Bank.
In Qalqilya, the IOF troops arrested multiple citizens during an ongoing raid of homes.
In Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, the Israeli forces arrested a young man after storming his family home in the town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah.
Similar raids were carried out in Iktaba suburb in Tulkarem. 15-year-old Yazan Al-Aloul was also detained during a raid on Anabta town, east of Tulkarem.
The Israeli forces arrested two youths during a raid on Wadi Al-Far’a, south of Tubas, and a third during a raid on the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
In Bethlehem, over 25 citizens were arrested during a sweeping and reportedly random arrest campaign in Aida Refugee Camp, north of the city, accompanied by widespread house raids and intimidation of residents.
Earlier on Sunday evening, Jewish settlers carried out violent attacks across the West Bank, including land seizures in Bethlehem.
The settlers began fencing off land in the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem, in an apparent attempt to seize it.
Taysir Abu Mfarreh, head of Tuqu’ Municipal Council, told a PIC correspondent that a group of settlers stormed the “Qanan Shaqir” area northeast of the town and began fencing 15 dunums of land planted with olive trees belonging to the Al-Asakra family. The land lies just tens of meters from residential homes.
In Nablus, settlers stormed Beit Dajan village, east of the city.
Local sources reported that settlers driving a vehicle with Palestinian license plates entered the western area of Beit Dajan and attempted to assault a resident while he was in his car with his child on the main road. Residents of the village intervened, prompting the settlers to flee.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces stormed Nabi Saleh village to the northwest of Ramallah on Sunday evening.
The Israeli soldiers raided several shops in the village and inspected surveillance cameras, with no arrests reported.
Later the same evening, Israeli forces entered Al-Bireh city and deployed in the Al-Janayn and Jabal Al-Tawil neighborhoods, again with no reported arrests.
They also stormed Beitin village, east of Ramallah, and deployed across various parts of the village, again with no reported detentions.
