WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Jewish settlers carried out a series of attacks across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem over the past 24 hours, including setting fire to homes and agricultural structures, attacking Palestinians and their property, and releasing livestock onto Palestinian farmland.
The attacks also included the establishment of a new settlement outpost and attempts to damage Palestinian landmarks, while other settlers stormed the Aqsa Mosque and performed Talmudic rituals in its courtyards.
The town of al-Tuwani in Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil, was among the areas most affected. Settlers set fire to a residential structure and an agricultural room and spray-painted racist slogans on the walls of Palestinian homes.
Anti-settlement activists said armed settlers from the Havat Ma’on settlement carried out the attack under the protection of Israeli occupation forces (IOF). They said the settlers set fire to a residential structure and an agricultural room.
In the same area, settlers released their livestock near Palestine School and in the Hawara area of Masafer Yatta as the school day began and attacked local residents, adding further pressure on Palestinian communities and students who have face repeated settler attacks.
In the Nablus governorate, buses carrying settlers stormed the summit area of Mount Gerizim, south of the city, while settlers attacked a home in the village of Beit Imrin and entered Palestinian land and residential areas east of Tayasir.
In the Beit Furik plain east of Nablus, Palestinian youths confronted a settler attack before IOF troops intervened and opened fire in the area. Settlers also set fire to olive trees in the village of Yasid, northwest of Nablus, targeting a key source of livelihood for Palestinian residents.
Settler attacks also extended to Palestinian farmland and grazing areas. Settlers released livestock onto Palestinian land in Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah, while others entered al-Mughayyir and attempted to damage the village’s memorial to Palestinians killed by Israel.
In Burqa, east of Ramallah, settlers attacked the outskirts of the village and set fire to several structures, burning at least one vehicle, according to local sources cited by the Palestinian news agency.
In Occupied Jerusalem, settlers continued to storm the Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli police forces. Groups forced their way through the Magharibeh Gate, toured the Mosque’s courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals.
The Jerusalem Governorate said the incursions came amid calls for mass settler incursions by groups associated with the so-called “Temple organizations” during the Jewish holiday season.
In previous days, settlers led by Rabbi Elisha Wolfson stormed the Mosque and performed Talmudic rituals in its eastern section. The Aqsa Mosque witnessed large-scale settler incursions during the Jewish New Year.
The settler attacks recorded within one single day illustrate the range of settler attacks across the occupied West Bank, from burning Palestinian homes, agricultural structures and olive trees to attacking residents, encroaching on grazing land, establishing settlement outposts and raiding Palestinian villages and farmland.
The attacks have coincided with broader Israeli restrictions across Occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank during the Jewish holidays, including restrictions on Palestinian movement while Israeli forces provide security for settler incursions into the Aqsa Mosque.
For many Palestinian communities, the incidents form part of a recurring pattern of attacks targeting residents, property and agricultural land. The IOF soldiers were present during several of the attacks, according to local accounts, either providing protection for settlers or intervening when Palestinians attempted to confront the attacks.
