Six Gaza detainees released from Israeli prisons

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Israeli occupation authorities released six detainees from the Gaza Strip on Sunday evening. The detainees had been arrested at different times from various locations across Gaza during the ongoing genocidal war.

According to local sources, all six released detainees arrived at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza, through the facilitation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

In a brief statement, the ICRC announced that it had facilitated the transfer of the six released detainees from the Kerem Shalom crossing to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza.

The Israeli occupation army periodically releases limited numbers of Gaza detainees. Many of those released show clear signs of exhaustion, weakness, and brutal abuse on their faces and bodies, reflecting the harsh conditions they endured inside Israeli prisons and interrogation centers.

According to the latest figures released by Palestinian prisoners’ institutions as of early July 2026, around 9,400 Palestinian prisoners and detainees were being held in Israeli prisons, including 1,320 detainees from Gaza whom the Israeli authorities have classified as “unlawful combatants.”

These figures do not include the thousands of detainees held in Israeli military camps and secret detention facilities, including Sde Teiman camp and other centers, about which official information regarding their conditions and places of detention remains largely unavailable.
