Three Palestinians Injured in Settler Attacks in Nablus and al-Khalil

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian man was wounded by live ammunition on Wednesday evening during an attack by Jewish settlers on the village of Osarin, south of Nablus. In a separate incident, two Palestinian children were exposed to pepper spray during a similar assault in the Huwara area of Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil, in the southern occupied West Bank.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that its emergency crews treated a 40-year-old man who had been shot in the hand by settlers in Osarin. He was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

According to local sources, Jewish settlers attacked Palestinian farmers while they were harvesting olives in the village and opened fire with live ammunition, wounding one of the farmers.

In a separate attack, Jewish settlers sprayed two Palestinian children with pepper spray in the Huwara area of Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil.

Local sources reported that settlers stormed the area, began provoking and assaulting Palestinian residents, and then sprayed the two children with pepper spray. No additional details were immediately available regarding the nature or severity of their injuries.

These attacks come amid an escalation in settler violence targeting Palestinians, their property, and their land across various parts of the occupied West Bank. The violence has intensified during the olive harvest season, when recurring settler attacks obstruct farmers’ access to their land and threaten their livelihoods.

Communities in Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil, continue to face repeated settler attacks targeting residents and shepherds, as well as their property and sources of income. These attacks have been accompanied by growing threats to the continued Palestinian presence in the area.
