GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) As millions around the world start observing the holy month of Ramadan, sadly in Gaza and across the region, many will mark this month facing conflict, displacement, and fear, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said in a social media post.
The situation in the north is tragic, where aid via land is denied despite repeated calls, the UN agency added.
“As Ramadan approaches, humanitarian access across the Gaza Strip and an immediate ceasefire are imperative to save lives,” it elaborated.
UNRWA added, “Our teams manage warehouses and continue to deliver food, water, hygiene kits, and other critical humanitarian aid. But we cannot meet the needs of people without safe and unimpeded access across the Gaza Strip.”
