GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Waed Prisoners Association has sounded the alarm over the suffering of child prisoners inside Israeli jails, describing what is happening to them as a “blatant violation of all international conventions on children’s rights.”
“The child prisoners are facing harsh incarceration conditions in Israeli jails, including insufficient clothing and blankets, poor nutrition, severe overcrowding, and deliberate medical neglect, all severely impacting their physical and psychological health,” Waed said in a statement released on Saturday.
Waed highlighted the spread of infectious diseases among children and teenagers due to poor hygiene and medical neglect in Israeli jails, calling their exposure to such Israeli violations a “form of systematic torture.”
Waed held the Israeli occupation authority fully responsible for the safety and lives of Palestinian minors in its jails, urging international human rights groups to take urgent action to protect them.
