US sanctions on Palestine draw strong criticism from PCPA

BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad (PCPA) expresses its profound dismay and unequivocal rejection of the decision issued by the United States Department of the Treasury on 21 January 2026, which designated the PCPA under the so-called “terrorism lists”.

The Conference affirms that this decision constitutes a unilateral administrative measure that is not based on any judicial ruling or binding international resolution. It does not, in any way, alter the legitimacy of the Conference’s lawful national and popular work, which is carried out in full compliance with the legal frameworks of the countries in which it operates.

The PCPA views this decision as part of a continued pattern of political targeting against Palestinian structures and organizations operating abroad, particularly in the wake of the growing international solidarity with the Palestinian people amid the genocidal war on Gaza.

The PCPA reiterates its commitment to continuing its peaceful and human rights activities with steadfastness and responsibility, affirming that Palestine will remain its moral and political compass, and that attempts at distortion and defamation will not undermine the justice of the Palestinian cause.
