West Bank sees intensified IOF raids and clashes amid rising settler violence

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Several areas across the occupied West Bank witnessed a series of Israeli military raids and home searches early Thursday, resulting in arrests, assaults and clashes, while Jewish settlers simultaneously carried out incursions and attacks in several locations.

In Nablus, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the city from several directions, including Jerusalem Street and the Huwwara checkpoint, before deploying across several neighborhoods and raiding homes and residential buildings, including a building near the Arab Specialized Hospital.

The raids resulted in the arrest of two young men. Footage from the scene also showed IOF arresting another young man and raiding a home in the al-Naqqar neighborhood.

The raids extended to the towns of Awarta and Madama, south of Nablus, where IOF searched a home in Madama. Young Palestinians also threw stones at a vehicle carrying settlers as it entered Awarta.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that three Palestinians were injured in the Rafidia neighborhood of western Nablus after IOF troops physically assaulted them.

In Qalqilya, IOF broke into the city through its eastern entrance and Nablus Street, triggering clashes, while troops also raided a home in the al-Naqqar neighborhood.

The IOF troops also raided the towns of Jayyous and Kafr Thulth, searching several homes. A young man was arrested after troops raided his family’s home in Jayyous, while a second man was arrested during the raid on Kafr Thulth.

The Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate also witnessed extensive raids. Israeli forces searched several homes in Kafr Malik, northeast of Ramallah, and entered the al-Amari refugee camp and surrounding areas in al-Bireh. Clashes broke out with Palestinian youths, during which Israeli forces opened fire.

In Jenin, Israeli forces raided Nazareth Street, while troops also forced their way into the city of Tubas and searched a home. Violent clashes erupted amid heavy fire of stun grenades.

The operations extended to al-Khalil, where Israeli forces stormed al-Arroub refugee camp north of the city and searched several homes, and raided the town of Sa’ir, north of the city.

Israeli forces also raided the town of al-Zawiya, west of Salfit, and stormed a local home.

Settler attacks coincide with Israeli military raids

As Israeli military operations continued, settlers carried out provocative incursions and attacks in several parts of the West Bank.

Settlers attempted to enter the Abu Falah area near the village of al-Taybeh, east of Ramallah, while others stormed the Wadi Salman area northwest of Occupied Jerusalem and began demolition work.

Settlers also carried out provocative tours in Khirbet Samra in the northern Jordan Valley, as settler activity continues alongside escalating Israeli military raids and attacks across the West Bank.
