CAIRO, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Former Palestinian prisoner Nael Barghouthi has urged the world’s parliaments to boycott members of Israel’s Knesset who approved a death penalty law authorizing the execution of Palestinian prisoners.
Addressing members of the Brazilian parliament and pro-Palestine activists on Wednesday, Barghouthi talked about the suffering of prisoners in Israeli jails, including their exposure to systematic physical and psychological torture.
According to Hurrya News, Barghouthi said the death penalty law passed by the Knesset reflects “the sadistic mindset pervading the fascist entity.”
He added that the Palestinian people, especially the prisoners, look forward to the support and solidarity of the world’s free people, noting that dozens of prisoners had been buried in secret cemeteries after being killed in Israeli custody.
Barghouthi accused Israel of taking pleasure in the suffering of prisoners, calling for necessarily rejecting the existence of a sadistic and racist entity endorsing such crimes.
He emphasized the need for the world’s free people to stand by the Palestinian people, highlight their plight in international events, and support their struggle for liberation from the Israeli occupation.
