Yehuda Glick, dozens of settlers defile Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestine Information Centre)Ultra-Orthodox Jewish rabbi Yehuda Glick desecrated the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards along with other settlers on Wednesday morning.

According to the al-Qastal News website, Glick was among dozens of settlers who entered the Mosque through al-Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards in different groups under tight police protection.

During their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount and a number of them provocatively performed Talmudic prayers.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police imposed movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and gates.

In a related context, Jerusalemite activists and religious figures continued to urge their compatriots to march en masse to the Aqsa Mosque to protect it against desecration by Jewish settlers during their holiday season.

As Jewish settler groups started recently to make preparations for mass break-ins soon at the Aqsa Mosque during their holidays, the Israeli occupation police embarked on persecuting Jerusalemite activists, citizens, religious figures, and Aqsa Mosque employees.

Local sources said that Israeli police officers stormed on Wednesday morning the house of Jerusalemite activist Nafisa Khuwais in at-Tur town and summoned her for interrogation.

Earlier, the Israeli occupation authority in Jerusalem banished Jerusalemite activist Nawaf as-Salaymeh from the Aqsa Mosque for one renewable week.

The Israeli police also summoned two 10-year-old brothers, Majd and Milad Obeid, from the east Jerusalem district of Issawiya for interrogation and kidnaped a Jerusalemite young man from al-Ram town.

Jerusalemite activist Khadija Khuwais was also stopped at the checkpoint of Shuafat refugee camp and handed a summons for interrogation at the Qishla detention center on Wednesday morning.

Another Jerusalemite activist called Jamil al-Abbasi was handed a notice ordering him to stay away from the Aqsa Mosque for one renewable week.

The police also summoned pro-Aqsa activist Muntaha Amara, from Umm al-Fahm city in 1948 occupied Palestine, for interrogation and extended the detention of Mohamed Amran, a young man from the east Jerusalem district of Silwan, until next Monday.

Meanwhile, an Israeli court ordered the detention of Jerusalemite prisoner Samir Bakhtan for 20 months.

Other Jerusalemite activists and citizens were also detained during the last two days, while Israeli court extended the detention of some of them
