KARBALA (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The 5th International Palestine Conference, The Call of Al-Aqsa, themed “From Karbala to Palestine,” has officially commenced in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq.
Delegates from over 60 countries across the globe are participating in the conference.
The attendees include political and religious leaders, parliamentarians, journalists, prominent social media figures, civil society leaders, human rights advocates, lawyers, and representatives from various non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
The opening ceremony took place at Al-Zahra University in Karbala, attended by prominent figures as well as the families of Palestinian martyrs.
The conference is organized jointly under the auspices of Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalai, the custodian of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (AS), and the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine (GCRP).
A Pakistani delegation led by Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, Additional Advocate General of Sindh High Court and leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), is participating in the event.
Delegates representing dozens of countries are attending, including those from Palestine, Gaza, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, Australia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Türkiye, the Netherlands, France, and several Latin American nations.
Upon the conclusion of the conference, delegates will gather at the Mowkeb Nida al-Aqsa along the Najaf-to-Karbala procession route. A dedicated museum has been established at the location detailing the current situation in Palestine, aimed at raising public awareness regarding the Palestinian cause among pilgrims walking to Karbala.
