BEIRUT, (The Palestine Information Centre)Deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau abroad, Mousa Abu Marzouq, on Tuesday arrived in Lebanon to discuss the latest developments of the Palestinian refugee camps, especially Ein al-Hilweh in southern Lebanon.
Abu Marzouq will meet Lebanese officials and representatives of Palestinian factions to discuss achieving a ceasefire and stopping the ongoing armed clashes that resulted in the killing a number of Palestinian refugees in the Ein al-Hilweh camp.
Local sources told the PIC that gunfire was heard on Tuesday evening 24 hours after announcing the ceasefire in the camp, adding that no armed clashes were reported.
Earlier on Monday, the Palestinian Joint Action Committee in Lebanon said that a ceasefire was declared in Ein al-Hilweh.
At least ten Palestinian refugees were killed while 120 others injured during the clashes that erupted on Monday in the camp, according to medical sources.
