GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, Hussam Abu Safiya, stressed on Thursday the urgent need for providing protection for the hospital and staff in light of the ongoing Israeli attacks on the northern Gaza Strip since October 5.
Abu Safiya highlighted the necessity of securing the hospital and staff amid the escalating Israeli attacks that led to the injury of 21 medical staff in recent days.
He explained that the situation in northern Gaza is worsening, as the Israeli occupation army does not allow the entry of any humanitarian aid into the besieged area.
He pointed out that some ambulances were transporting the injured to Gaza hospitals, but medical supplies and specialized medical teams were not allowed to enter the area.
The Israeli attack on northern Gaza that began on October 5 is aimed at occupying the area and turning it into a buffer zone after displacing its residents amid tight siege and ongoing bombardment, Abu Safiya said.
The United Nations has repeatedly warned of the worsening humanitarian situation in the northern Gaza Strip in particular, stressing that civilians are dying of hunger in front of the world.
