Activists Across 60 Countries Call for Arms Export Ban on Israel

LONDON, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Global Alliance for Palestine (GAFP) has announced a major international campaign involving more than 200 civil society organizations and labor unions, in cooperation with the Anti-Apartheid Movement and the Global Coalition Against the Occupation of Palestine.

The campaign will include protests and public-awareness activities in 60 countries across six continents, with the stated goal of defending Palestinian rights and confronting ongoing violations.

Calls to enforce international law and restrict arms exports

Participating organizations aim to pressure the international community to strictly enforce international law and impose legal and trade restrictions on arms exports to Israel.

Planned actions include mass demonstrations in streets and public squares, sit-ins outside government and official buildings, and cultural and educational activities to raise international public awareness of the conflict and the violations being committed.

From London to São Paulo: A global map of actions

Events are planned in major cities including London, Sydney, Istanbul, Rabat, and São Paulo, where local groups are coordinating actions targeting commercial and government institutions linked to military supply chains.

Sources familiar with the campaign said the mobilization will also extend to parliaments, with legal questioning and emergency debates over the legality of continued military cooperation with Israel.

Al-Tikriti: Reliance on traditional diplomacy has failed

Dr. Anas al-Tikriti, secretary-general of the Global Alliance for Palestine, said continued settler violence and the genocide in Gaza have demonstrated the failure of reliance on traditional diplomatic solutions, which he called “hollow.”

He said people mobilizing around the world are acting in defense of Palestinian land and demanding an immediate halt to military supply lines that, he said, fuel Israel’s war machine.

Broad international participation

The campaign includes prominent groups such as the Stop the War Coalition and the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in Britain, alongside Palestinian federations in Latin America and advocacy networks in Australia, South Africa, and Malaysia.

Organizers said the campaign’s geographic and political diversity reflects a shift in global public opinion toward the Palestinian cause, amid growing grassroots demands for accountability for crimes against humanity.

Legislative pressure on governments

The campaign also seeks to increase legislative pressure on governments that continue to provide military support to Israel despite international human rights reports documenting serious violations in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.

Organizers hope sustained public pressure in major centers of political decision-making will lead to Israel’s increasing political and economic isolation until it complies with international resolutions and ends policies they characterize as apartheid.
